New Features Incoming – eSim & International Bills

At Cardtonic, most of our new features don’t start in a boardroom; they start with our users.

The flow is simple: “What do our users want that we can offer?” rather than “What can we offer that our users might want?”.

The two questions sound similar, but the flip in the phrase dictates the priority. It’s first about what users want, rather than what we can build.

Over the past few months, we’ve been listening closely. From feedback in chats and reviews to data from thousands of suggestions, one theme kept coming up: “I love Cardtonic, but I wish I could do X with it…”

Here are just a few voices that stood out:

• “I live in Ireland and wish I could buy data with Cardtonic.”
• “Do you guys offer eSIMs? I want to use one whenever I travel, but most providers won’t take Naira.”

When patterns like this repeat across our community, it’s a signal for us to enter the kitchen and start cooking.

Now Coming Soon – International Bills & eSIM

This October, we’re rolling out two big upgrades:

1. International Bills: Pay for airtime, data, and bills in 100+ countries, all while paying in Naira or Cedis.

2. eSIMs: Activate a digital SIM in minutes and stay connected when you travel anywhere in the world. No need to hunt for local SIM cards or worry about payment restrictions. And yes, you’ll pay in Naira or Cedis, too.

We’ve been working on these for a while, and we’re finally ready to share. Below are some sneak peeks of how they’ll look in-app.
